4GB RAM Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 to go on sale in Malaysia next week

Xiaomi Malaysia has revealed that the upgraded Redmi Note 4 is officially here! But, the question on everyone’s mind will probably be — how much is it?

After some speculation on our part regarding the price of the high-spec Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, we finally have confirmation that our initial guesses were…wrong. The high-spec Redmi Note 4 is RM150 more than its lower spec’d sibling.

In a Facebook Post on Mi Malaysia’s page, the brand revealed that the high-spec Redmi Note 4 with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage has officially landed locally. It will come in three colours — Black, Gold and Grey — and will be made available on the 29th of April 2017. Although Mi Malaysia refrained from mentioning where interested buyers can get one, we believe that it will likely be at all authorised Xiaomi retailers nationwide.

To refresh your memory, the Redmi Note 4 is an incredibly good value-for-money buy. You got a 5.5-inch Full HD display with 2.5D glass on top, a Snapdragon 625 14nm octa-core processor and a large 4,100 mAh battery. Before this, it only came in one variant and that was the low spec one with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Now, though, Mi Malaysia has brought in the higher-spec version with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.

In the camera department, the handset will feature a 13-megapixel primary camera with an aperture of f/2.0 at the back while selfies are handled by a 5MP f/2.0 shooter in front. The phone will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with Xiaomi’s MIUI 8 running on top.

Despite the higher price tag, this is still a great value phone. We would however, have loved to see it below RM900.

already bought the 3GB Version for my spouse. don't think the extra RAM is gonna make lot of difference for basic calls, messaging and Waze

    Solid

yup no difference if you are not using it.
I would tell her is the 4GB version you got her, thou.

S8lagiEdge

My guess is rm959, still the cheapest 4gb ram 64gb rom smartphone around. If rm899 then the rm799 3gb version nobody wanna buy.

    mama

LOL ! why guess, the price is already shown in the picture. RM949.00. great phone, great value though

    Solid

you should check out the Lenovo Z2.
it has the flagship grade snapdragon 820 and a 4gb ram… for less than 1k I think.

speaking of which, Rm150 more for more RAM and GB is considered a good deal. Samsung and Apple charge more for GB without RAM upgrade. Note 5 is 1 example.

MIUI 8 still has some hiccup here & there, good hardware only to let down by half baked UI

Wondering

3GB + 32GB for RM799
4Gb + 64GB for RM949

which one has higher CP?

Your call after all.

    Well played Xiaomi.
Everyone realised that the RN4 32gb is kinda overpriced compared to RN3 16gb which was selling for RM300 less!

And just as planned, Xiaomi soon follows with RN4 64gb and all the preconditioned sheeps now feel that this price is very reasonable.

      smart455

      RN3 16GB RM499
      RN4 32GB RM799
      RN4 64GB RM949

      2x RN3 total 32GB = RM998
      1x RN4 total 64GB = RM949

      Which is more value?

        mama

        still can get RN3 16GB 499?

        Smarter

Compare RN3 at 499 is like comparing price of clearance fruit at the supermarket. Original price is RM749.

Teck wan

100 for +1gb ram and 50 for +32gb rom worth the price la..But a small phone need meh? Pls make a 7.0tab with same spec lah or add LTE version to the mipad3.

    halimi

worth it ! 32GB ROM not enough, nowadays game consumed lots of storage space in ROM, more RAM will make multiple apps run simultaneously without shutting one after open another.

My 2GB RAM can’t even run Pokemon Go together with We chat.

Can you Lazada code get rm 100 diskaunt?

My RN3 while making phone call, voice volume fluctuating in the interval of seconds, suddenly audible, suddenly not audible at all, GPS not detectable most of the time. Wondering whether it’s an isolated problem (just my phone defect) or xiaomi’s general quality control problem…
I would be thinking twice before considering xiaomi’s phone again, no point getting cheap phone with good specs but can’t make a decent call

    halimi

Most probably problem with your unit, my Mi3 doesn’t has such issue, btw your RN3 Mediatek or SD chips, if Mediatek then is [email protected] to have GPS tracking issue.
