Since the hint on Facebook that Malaysia may get the Find 5 last year, we have not heard much from Chinese device manufacturer Oppo. And while official units are not yet available in Malaysia, you can now get your hands on either the 16 or 32GB version of the Find 5 via grey importers.

Launched late last year, the Oppo Find 5 packs an impressive hardware list that can still be considered advanced when compared to many of the recently released smartphones like the HTC One and Sony Xperia Z. The Find 5 sports a full HD 1080p 5-inch display (441ppi), an f2.2 13MP rear camera and a 1.9MP front camera, and 1.5Ghz Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM, while power comes from a 2,500mAh battery pack. The Find 5 however doesn’t have LTE or a micro SD memory expansion slot. The device runs Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2

Oppo claims that at the heart of the 13MP camera is “the most advanced 1/3.06-type sensor available”. Oppo say that the Find 5 is the first smartphone to use hardware supported HDR stills and video recording, plus it has a burst mode that shoots 100 stills in five seconds and 1080p video recording at up to 120 frames per second.

The sleek Find 5 is available via grey importers for RM1,690 (16GB) here and RM2,000 (32GB) here. The unofficial price is not that far off from the expected RRP (about RM1,500 for the 16GB version and around RM1,800 for the 32GB), so that’s a good thing if you’re interested.
