OnePlus can make a mean flagship smartphone. It’s shown time and time again with its flagship OnePlus One, 2, plus the latest 3 and 3T. They’ve attracted somewhat of a cult following in the consumer space and have thrived in it.
But one of the things OnePlus fans have always felt their devices lack, myself included, is the a truly great camera. Well, with the upcoming OnePlus 5, it looks like they’re listening to us and are pouring a not insignificant amount of resources into making sure they nail this one aspect.
OPPO has just unveiled its new photography-centric smartphone with its new R11. Barely a few weeks from its announcement in China, it appears that the R11 is heading for Malaysia soon as it just passed our local SIRIM certification with the model number CPH1707.
Ahead of the Raya holidays, OPPO has revised its pricing for two of its smartphones, the R9s and A77. To make the R9s truly yours, they are also offering a free personalised laser engraving service.
OPPO is going full force with its photography-centric smartphones following its success with its R9 series. Now there’s a new one and the OPPO R11 is taking things up a notch with a dual-camera setup at the rear and a higher resolution selfie shooter. It’s also one of the first smartphones to run on Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 660 processor which offers up to 20% more performance than a Snapdragon 653.
If you can’t get enough of selfies, OPPO Malaysia has yet again introduced another selfie-centric smartphone with the OPPO A77. This looks like the OPPO F1s but with welcomed hardware improvements all round.
It’s more than a year since OPPO introduced its original OPPO R9 series and they are about to release a new successor with the R11. Like the current series, it will come in two sizes with the OPPO R11 and OPPO R11 Plus. After playing around with larger sensors and quicker dual PDAF focusing technology, OPPO is finally jumping on the dual-camera bandwagon.
It’s that time of the year again. Although a whole host of new smartphones have been launched, a lot of the conversation is about the smartphones at the top end of the market. “What about those on a tight budget?”, you must be wondering, “Do tech sites even care about those of us who can’t spend a month’s salary on a device?”, you’re probably thinking.
Well, we care. So, here are some of the best phones you can get for under RM1,200.

Samsung has often maintained the top spot when it comes to global smartphone shipments, except for that one time in Q4 2016 during its Note7 fiasco. However, if you’re wondering which specific model is the best seller, you’ll get a rather different answer.
