After Oppo unveiled its 125W Flash Charger, Realme has also announced a similar fast charging tech that boasts an insane 125W output. According to Realme, it can charge a 4,000mAh battery smartphone to 33% in just 3 minutes.

The new charging tech pushes nearly double the power output of its current 65W SuperDart charger that’s bundled on the Realme X50 Pro 5G. Looking at the specs, it looks quite similar to Oppo’s new charger.

For Oppo, their new 125W charging brick is rated to fully charge a 4,000mAh phone in 20 minutes but Realme didn’t provide its own full charge figures. However, based on the rating of 33% charge in 3 minutes, it appears to be quicker in the first few minutes. Oppo’s charging brick can push 41% charge in 5 minutes and based on their demo video, Oppo’s charger still couldn’t push 30% at the 3-minute marker.

Similar to Oppo, the UltraDart charger uses a USB-C port and it pushes 20V 6.25A. The solution also uses a double 6C cell for the battery and has three charge pumps which claim to provide a charging efficiency of up to 98%. The three pumps individually converts 20V 2.1A each which is equivalent to 42W.

The charging brick is also compatible with other fast charging protocols. This includes 65W Power Delivery which can be used for charging a laptop as well as 36W Quick Charge. It is also compatible with VOOC, Dart, Warp, SuperVOOC and SuperVOOC 2.0 protocols.

According to Realme’s post on Weibo, it hinted that the 125W charging tech could be released on a new 5G smartphone in August.
