There’s a new Asus ROG Phone II variant that’s RM1,000 cheaper

The Asus ROG Phone II is still one of the most insane gaming smartphones in the market. If you’re looking for a cheaper option, there’s now a new variant from ASUS that’s priced RM1,000 lower.

According to DirectD, the ROG Phone II with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage has finally arrived in Malaysia with a retail price of RM2,499. The device which is listed with Asus Malaysia warranty will be available starting 10th January at their Klang Valley outlets and on 12th January in the East Coast.

The rest of the specs appears to be unchanged. The ROG Phone II features a 6.59″ Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and it runs on a Snapdragon 855+ processor. It gets a pair of front-facing stereo speakers and you can still plug in your traditional headphones via its 3.5mm headphone jack.

The device features a 48MP main + 13MP ultra-wide dual-camera setup and a front-facing 24MP selfie camera. For a better gaming experience, the ROG Phone II gets an improved AirTriggers and it also gets an AeroCooler accessory that allows you to plug in your headphones and charging cable on the left side of the device.

Powering the gaming device is a huge 6,000mAh battery and it supports 30W fast charging via USB-C. As a comparison, the Asus ROG Phone II with 12GB RAM + 512GB storage is priced at RM3,499 while the 12GB RAM + 1TB version is going for RM4,499.
