ROG Phone II specs
The ROG Phone II features all the best specs you could have in a high-end flagship smartphone in 2019. At its heart, it packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor, that’s mated to a whopping 12GB of RAM. It also utilises UFS 3.0 storage in either 512GB or 1TB configurations. On top of that, you have a massive 6,000 mAh battery keeping everything powered. It also has fast-charging support via USB-C and ASUS includes a 30W fast-charging brick in the box.
Upfront, the device features a large 6.59” Full HD+ AMOLED display that has a fast 120Hz refresh rate so you get buttery smooth and snappy performance in and out of the game. It also has a new GameCool II system that includes a 3D vapour chamber, heatsink and additional vents for better heat dissipation. If that’s not enough, the phone comes bundled with an AeroActive Cooler II fan attachment that you can strap to the back of the phone to help cool it (and your fingers) down.
For taking pictures, the gaming device features a similar rear camera setup as the ZenFone 6. It has a 48MP main camera that uses Sony’s IMX586 sensor and a secondary 13MP ultra-wide-angle shooter. If you need to take selfies or stream yourself while playing games, there’s a 24MP front camera that offers a 77.9-degree field of view.
Asus also upped the ante in the build department with a more expensive-feeling glass back without sacrificing on the angular gamer aesthetics. You’ve got an RGB ROG logo at the back that you can configure with Armoury Crate app that’s pre-installed on the phone.
Speaking of gaming features, the ROG Phone II also packs a pair of awesome stereo speakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack. AirTriggers also make a return—that’s the shoulder button function we saw on the first ROG Phone—but now they’re a little better with a little more functionality.
