Samsung’s Galaxy S10 series will be announced in less than three weeks and we can finally confirm what it would look like thanks to a fresh batch of leaks by prolific
As expected, the Galaxy S10 will come with a 6.1″ display that comes with a punch-hole selfie camera that’s positioned on the top right corner of the screen. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S10+ model with a 6.4″ display gets a bigger hole as it houses two selfie cameras. Like previous Samsung flagships, both will feature Quad HD resolution displays on a Super AMOLED panel.
Samsung is equipping both Galaxy S10 and S10+ with three cameras for the rear. Unlike the Galaxy S9+, the cameras are arranged horizontally like the Galaxy Note series. The extra third camera is expected to offer an ultra-wide-angle capability. If you look closely at the bottom of the devices, you can see cut-outs for the USB-C port as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack.
There’s no longer a physical fingerprint sensor at the rear as Samsung will be introducing an in-display fingerprint sensor for the very first time. The heart rate sensor, which made its debut on the Galaxy S5 is still retained for the 10th generation Galaxy S. Looking at the sides, Samsung is still keeping the dedicated Bixby button that’s placed on the same side as the volume rockers.
In terms of colours, there will be at least three options available for the European market. There’s black, green and white which comes with a pearl-like finish. According to Roland, a blue option is expected to be introduced a bit later.
In terms of specs, both models will run on the latest Exynos 9820 processor while in some markets, it will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 processor. The Galaxy S10 and S10+ are expected to come with at least 6GB of RAM with a minimum of 128GB of storage. For the Galaxy S10+, Samsung is expected to offer as much as 1TB of internal storage with their latest
Since the Galaxy Note9, it appears that the Korean smartphone maker is getting more generous when it comes to battery. The Galaxy S10 is said to come with a 3,400mAh battery while the bigger S10+ is expected to pack a larger 4,100mAh unit.
The Galaxy S10 series will be announced at a Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event that’s happening on the 20th February 2019 in San Francisco. Apart from the Galaxy S10 and S10+, Samsung will be introducing a third affordable model that’s going to be called the Galaxy S10E (formerly speculated as the S10 Lite). Since Malaysia is a key market, we expect local Galaxy S10 pre-orders to start shortly after the Unpacked event.
