Xiaomi’s newest 20,000mAh Mi Power Bank Pro has two-way 45W fast charging, a USB-C port and is powerful enough to charge a MacBook Pro

Powerbanks are something of a necessity nowadays especially when you’re going to be away from a power point for a whole day. If you have room for just one powerbank in your backpack, Xiaomi’s latest is probably the one you want to get.

For starters, the 20,000mAh Mi Power Bank Pro supports two-way 45W fast charging via USB-C. With a compatible cable, this means the powerbank can charge compatible phones to full capacity in less than an hour.

The USB-C is powerful enough to charge a MacBook Pro and a few other USB-C enabled computers, if the need ever arises.

Two-way fast charging also means that you’ll be able to fast charge the powerbank too. Where previously it takes over 8 hours to charge a Xiaomi 20,000mAh powerbank, with fast charging you can expect to get the 20,000 mAh Mi Power Bank Pro to full charge in about half the time, provided you use a 45W charger and compatible cable.

The powerbank itself has three ports in total, two USB-A ports and the earlier mentioned USB-C port. While the USB-C port supports fast charging, the USB-A ports are fairly standard with 18W in and out at 5V/2.4A, 9V/2A and 12V/1.5A).

If you need to charge your device and your powerbank at the same time, you’ll be happy to know that the 20,000 Mi Power Bank Pro supports pass through charging which means that it can be charged while in use to charge another device.

The 20,000 Mi Power Bank Pro is listed on China’s TMall at the moment, but the item is not available for purchase. The indicated price is 199 RMB (about RM120) – that’s cheap! Here’s hoping Xiaomi will make this powerbank available in Malaysia soon.
