Setel, the mobile app which lets you pay for petrol with your smartphone, has doubled its service availability in less than a month. You can now use Setel at 85 Petronas stations throughout the Klang Valley.

For a quick recap, Setel works like an eWallet for petrol which you can top up with your debit or credit card. The whole experience is seamless as you can authorise the pump while you’re in the car. Once that’s done, you can step out to refuel immediately without the need of queuing up to pay by cash or to slot in your card on the pump’s terminal . In the future, there’s the option to order Kedai Mesra items and have it delivered straight to you.

Setel is now supported in a number of Petronas stations located in Ampang, Bangsar, Batu Caves, Cheras, Damansara, Hulu Langat, Kepong, Klang, Kuala Lumpur, Petaling, Petaling Jaya, Salak South, Segambut, Serdang, Setapak, Shah Alam, Subang, Sungai Buloh, Sungai Penchala and TTDI. You can check out the full list here.

According to Setel, they are working towards hitting their 600 stations mark by June 2019 and they aim to go nationwide by end 2019.

To entice more users to try Setel, they have also extended their 10% rebate promo for accounts created before 31 December 2018. This 10% rebate offer is valid for the first 30 days of account creation and it is capped at RM50. You can learn more about the promo here.

The Setel app is now available for both Android and iOS. For more info, you can check out our review or watch our video below.
