ASUS’ ROG Phone has finally launched in Malaysia. Here’s everything you need to know

This is it. The time has finally come and the world’s most epic gaming smartphone has finally launched in Malaysia. Meet the ASUS ROG Phone, and if you want to know where you can get your hands on one, here’s everything you need to know.

ASUS ROG Phone is priced at RM3,499 for the 128GB variant and RM3,999 for the 512GB variant. With each device, you will also get the Aeroactive cooler and special ROG Phone case for free.

You will be able to pre-order this device from the 22nd of October to the 4th of November 2018 at all authorised ASUS Brand Stores and online at Shopee and Lazada. Due to the limited nature of the smartphone, ASUS Malaysia were unable to provide us with an official date when you can see this phone in stores, but we will keep you updated if we hear anything.

Additionally, ASUS Malaysia will be bringing in the full suite of accessories for you to pick up alongside this handset, which will be available in November:

ROG Phone Case — RM199
ASUS Professional Dock — RM299
GAMEVICE controller — RM349
Mobile Desktop Dock — RM599
ROG Suitcase — RM599
ASUS WiGig Display Dock — RM899
TwinView Dock — RM999

To recap, the ASUS ROG Phone is this epic smartphone that’s designed for one task and one task alone: Gaming. And, it’s got the specs to back it up. Inside, the handset is powered by a speed-binned flagship-class Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor that’s clocked at 2.96GHz. So, as you would imagine, this phone is pretty fast.

But, being fast isn’t the only thing this phone is designed to do as the handset also features a large 4,000 mAh battery inside with support for Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4 technology and USB-PD fast-charging (you even get a USB-PD brick out of the box!).

Up front, you’ve also got one of the best OLEDs on any smartphone out right now. Yes, it’s a 6-inch panel that pushes a resolution of Full HD+, but it’s also got a refresh rate of 90Hz (so it looks more buttery) and it also has a 1ms response time. Then, you consider the fact that this crisp, contrasty panel is flanked by a pair of front-facing stereo speakers, and you’ve got one helluva gaming device in your hands.

Of course, ASUS weren’t done yet. They also included other gaming features like a nickel-plated cooler that’s built in, a pair of capacitive AirTriggers that work like trigger buttons on a controller, and TWO USB-C ports — one on the side and one on the bottom — so you won’t have to worry about cables getting in your way during gaming. Oh, and did I mention this handset also features a 3.5mm headphone jack?

Besides that, ASUS also bundles a special cooling accessory that straps on to the back of the phone to give you even more cooling power. Bonus fun fact: This cooler also works wonders in cooling your fingers.
