UPDATE: It’s now available on Malaysian units. Just make sure you’re on the latest software update.
The Galaxy S9 and S9+ were the first Samsung Galaxy flagship smartphones to feature landscape mode for its home screen and app drawer. This gave the devices a tablet-like experience, making it convenient to navigate thru the interface while you’re holding it in landscape. Now it appears that Samsung is extending this landscape feature to last year’s flagships.
According to XDA Developers, the latest Samsung Experience launcher will bring home screen rotation for the Galaxy S8, S8+ and the Note8. This is expected to be pushed on the next software update but so far, it isn’t available yet on our Galaxy S8+.
To enable landscape mode, just pinch on the home screen, tap on Home Screen settings and disable Portrait Mode Only. The interface is always locked to portrait by default.
