When it comes to flagship smartphones, nothing much has changed in terms of form factor. Almost all smartphone makers adopt a slim candy bar design and the latest trend at the moment is to put the largest display with as little bezels as possible. To solve the front camera conundrum, OPPO has done something very different with its latest Find X. Its a new smartphone with a slider and OPPO has confirmed that it’s coming soon to Malaysia.

To recap, the Find X features a 6.4″ Full HD+ dual curved display that dominates almost the entire front of the phone. It’s almost fully bezel-less with just a slight chin. Underneath its glass exterior is a top of the line Snapdragon 845 processor mated to 8GB of RAM and it comes with a single storage option of 256GB.

The entire back of the Find X is clean and there isn’t a fingerprint sensor. Instead, the Find X uses the front camera for face unlock and this is the only way to secure your phone conveniently. The front features a 25MP AI-powered selfie camera while the rear gets a 16MP+20MP dual camera combo. These cameras are housed in a sliding mechanism which takes just 0.5 seconds to launch.

Powering the Find X is a 3,730mAh battery which supports VOOC charging via USB-C and it lacks a headphone jack. Out of the box, it runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with ColorOS skin on top.

In China, the OPPO Find X is priced at 4,999CNY, which is about RM3,018 if converted directly. OPPO Malaysia has yet provide any local launch dates but we think it could happen as early as end of this month.
