YouTube has finally rolled out a new feature which allows iPhone X users to watch videos with HDR. It’s applicable to Malaysian users and you can start enjoying HDR content on the YouTube app.
HDR (High Dynamic Range) videos offer a better visual experience as it has higher contrast and wider colour range than standard videos. Firstly, you would need to find HDR supported content and make sure it’s playing in the best quality possible. As shown above, just tap on the “3 dots” on the top right-hand corner, select quality and tap on “1080p60 HDR”.
Surprisingly, the YouTube HDR video playback feature is not available yet for the iPad Pro. The YouTube HDR support was made available for Android smartphones like the Galaxy S8, Note8, Pixel, LG V30 and Xperia XZ Premium since September last year. To give it a go, you can find HDR supported videos on this YouTube channel.
