Sony Xperia XZ Premium Malaysia

The Sony Xperia XZ Premium is the world’s first smartphone to feature a high-resolution 4K HDR display and 960fps super slow-mo. When it was launched in Malaysia, it had a hefty price tag of RM3,399. If you’re still interested in this device, Sony Mobile Malaysia has just announced a price cut of RM700.

The Xperia XZ Premium is now officially priced at RM2,699 and it’s still a capable flagship for today’s standards. It gets a 5.5″ 4K Triluminos panel and under its mirror finish body, it has a Snapdragon 835 processor that’s mated to 4GB of RAM. It comes with 64GB of storage which is expandable via microSD. For better battery life management, the screen runs in 1080p most of the time and it switches to 4K only when it’s needed.

In the imaging department, it gets a 19MP 1/2.3″ Motion eye camera that can shoot incredible 960fps slow-mo videos. For selfies, it gets a 13MP f/2.0 front camera that can shoot 1080p videos.

Juicing up the Xperia XZ Premium is a 3,230mAh battery which supports Quick Charge via USB-C. You still get a headphone jack and there’s also IP68 dust and water resistance.

Apart from the Xperia XZ Premium, Sony has also reduced the price of the Xperia XA1 Plus to RM1,299. This is their mid-range 5.5″ Full HD smartphone that comes with a MediaTek Helio P20 processor, 4GB of RAM an 32GB of storage.

It carries a 23MP f/2.0 Exmor RS main camera and a front-facing 8MP f/2.0 selfie shooter. The fingerprint sensor is embedded in the side power button and powering the device is a 3,430mAh battery.

Overwhelming response… Sure or not? #fakenews

4K on a smartphone is ridiculous. Sony should have kept it at 1080p to reduce cost.

Go play with the demo unit at sony center first, if very decided liked the phone then only buy from 11 street lo, can use rm200 disc coupon leh. Now buy not bad la got free bluetooth headphone, else buy s9 or p20 better. The xz2 are nearing good but not quite matched the s9, p20 or ipX camera.

According to GSMarena, xz2’s camera in on par with the s9. Surprisingly, if you’re using tripod, the lowlight quality of the camera is better than the s9

"If we've criticized the company's flagships before, it hasn't been for a lack of reasons, but it has brought some name calling our way. You can't please everyone, but the Sony loyalist may feel a little warmth reading this, for a change. This time around, the Xperia XZ2 proved to be as good and, on occasion, even superior to the Galaxy S9 in this shootout.

The funny thing is, Sony's phone hit the Galaxy where it hurt most – low-light photography. Support it properly, and the XZ2 will deliver better pictures that the S9 at night, in full auto at that. The Galaxy saves face with solid output when shooting handheld – courtesy of OIS, and a bright aperture, so not all is lost in the dark.

In daylight we'd really struggle to pick a winner. If you refrain from close-up scrutiny, the two are actually very hard to tell apart and when you do zoom in, it's a clash of approaches, neither strictly better than the other – the super-clean Galaxy versus the noisier but more detailed Xperia.

An unlikely winner in another area, the Galaxy is our pick for slow-mo video recording. Yes, Sony introduced it last year, and even upped the resolution this year. But it's Samsung that's wrapped slow-mo in more approachable and easier to use software, ultimately making it better as a whole.

Regular videos, on the other hand, are that little bit more likeable coming out of the Xperia, the 4K/30fps ones in particular, but it's not a night-and-day difference. What can possibly have you leaning either way is the 4K/60fps capabilities of the Galaxy and the HDR recording of the Xperia. Pick one."…
