Sony expected to reveal its new flagships at MWC 2018

Apart from Samsung, Sony has confirmed its presence at Mobile World Congress 2018 in Barcelona. After launching its latest mid-range Xperia XA2/XA2 Ultra smartphones at CES 2018, it’s time for Sony to reveal its new high-end models.

If you’re bored with the same old phones, there’s a chance that Sony might introduce a fresh new design for its 2018 flagships. It’s rumoured that its upcoming premium flagship model, the Xperia XZ Pro, would feature a “bezel-less” 18:9 display that pushes 4K resolution on an OLED panel. Also expected is a standard flagship model which might be called the Xperia XZ2.

The original Xperia XZs that was launched at last year’s MWC 2017 wasn’t impressive but things started to look better with their newer Xperia XZ1 that was revealed on the second half of the year. Looking at their recently launched Xperia XA2/XA2 Ultra, we hope that the new Xperia XZ1 successor would be a flagship smartphone that you actually want to buy.

The Sony press event at MWC 2018 will take place on 26 February 2018 at 8:30 AM, which is at 3:30 PM Malaysian time. The event will be streamed live on Sony Mobile’s official blog.
