As the Nokia brand is revived once more, the current Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 are basically entry-level device clad with upmarket materials. To return back to its glory days, Nokia is reconnecting with long time partner ZEISS to raise the standard for imaging.
The first product from this collaboration can be seen in their upcoming flagship that’s expected to be called the Nokia 8.
Serial leakster @evleaks has dropped a teaser of the upcoming flagship and it appears that ZEISS will be helping Nokia in producing their first dual camera system. As seen in the image above, it will sport a similar camera bump design as the current Nokia 5 and it comes with two camera lens along with a prominent ZEISS branding on it. The collaboration between Nokia and ZEISS could be similar to Huawei’s effort with Leica on their current flagship series.
UPDATE: @evleaks drops another clear image of the Nokia 8, showing off both front and back.
According to a report, the Nokia 8 could be launched as early as end of this month. Being a flagship, it is rumoured to run on a Snapdragon 835 processor that’s mated with at least 4GB RAM with a minimum storage of 64GB. The screen is said to be a compact 5.3″ display that pushes Quad HD resolution and it might feature a “bezel-less” design for a more compact footprint.
Apart from having a premium design, the Nokia 8 is speculated to come with IP68 dust/water resistance and comes with an Iris and fingerprint scanner. The Nokia 8 is expected to be priced around 589 Euro which is around RM2,898 if converted directly.
