Want to get your hands on the latest Xiaomi flagships? The Mi Note 2 and the Mi MIX are now available in Malaysia through grey importer DirectD.
Launched a couple of weeks back, the Mi Note 2 is their new flagship phablet which now features a 5.7″ dual-curved display. Similar to the Galaxy Note7, it has 3D curved glass for both front and back, and it also gets a home button in front that doubles up as a fingerprint sensor.
Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is available in two spec levels. The base 4GB RAM and 64GB storage version is priced at RM2,399 while the higher-spec 6GB RAM and 128GB storage option is going for RM2,799. The rest of the specs are similar for the two, with a Snapdragon 821 processor, 22.56MP Sony IMX 318 main camera, 8MP front shooter and a rather large 4,070mAh battery.
Meanwhile, the one of a kind Mi MIX is being offered for RM3,699. This is Xiaomi’s “concept” phone which features a stunning 6.4″ Full HD bezel-less display encased in a full ceramic body. Similar to the Mi Note 2, it is powered by a Snapdragon 821 processor and it comes equipped with a 16MP + 5MP camera combo plus a large 4,400mAh battery.
Since the top of the Mi MIX is all screen, it uses a piezo-electric speaker and an ultrasonic proximity sensor underneath the display. Meanwhile, the front selfie camera is repositioned to the bottom of the phone. Only the standard model is being offered for now which comes with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage.
As a comparison, the premium version with 18K gold detailing comes with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. To learn more, you can check out our Xiaomi Mi MIX review.
At the moment, DirectD is offering both the Mi Note 2 and Mi MIX in black colour only. Take note that these are import sets and Xiaomi still has no plans of bringing these both models officially into our local market.
