Vaping has hit the Malaysian scene like a storm. And the only thing stopping it is well… you know what. Anyway, while it still hasn’t been considered illegal in some states in Malaysia, let’s take a look at the one and only “hookah-like” smartphone.

Phubbers who love vaping can now finally put two and two together, making the Vaporcade Jupiter a novelty that’s worth trying – the Verge seems to think so at least when they tried it out at CES 2016.

This takes the cake in a time that has most smartphone manufacturers adding features likes fingerprint sensors, dual-cameras, and even ticker displays. But you can be sure that they won’t even consider adding vape modules to their devices.

Vaporcade wants to go against the grain and fit the niche that they’ve created – cellular vaping. Their first smartphone is called the Jupiter IO 3: a 3G device goes for US$ 299 (RM 1317.11). The smartphone in question will run Android KitKat 4.4 – dated but then again you’re buying it to vape not to have the best smartphone.

It’ll run for 16 hours (smartphone only) with its two batteries – that’s shared to power both the phone and vape. Vaporcade intends to release a 4G model as well but that’s yet to be announced. Bear in mind the amount stated above doesn’t include the “Shuttle” – a pop on module that attaches on the top of the smartphone – those cost US$ 14.99 (RM 66.07).

Vaporcade claims that the device has already passed FCC certification but we’ll have to see what hurdles they have to jump if you’re ever expected to find the Jupiter in Malaysia.

We don’t condone harming your body and the effects of vaping are still up in the air but it’s crazy to think they managed to put this on a smartphone.
