Piloting a drone can be tough for first time users. What if you had a GoPro enabled drone that could pilot itself? This is the Lily, the only drone with a built-in camera that you can throw up into the air and have it follow you to capture life’s greatest adventure.
The Lily can fly at 25 miles per hour and shoot 1080p video or 720p at up to 120 fps while keeping it’s eyes on you. It can also shoot 12 megapixel still shots and 360 degree panoramas. Just toss it into the air for the ultimate selfie. The drone will even detect when you’re kicking some sick moves and automatically goes into slow mo mode.
The Lily does this by following a small tracker you wear on your wrist (or anywhere else on the target) and with this you issue some simple commands for it work. The tracker doesn’t work as a traditional remote control however, and there’s no way for you to pilot it manually, but it more than makes up for it with it’s own piloting skills.
So in that sense, it’s more of a flying camera than an actual honest-to-goodness drone. The device has a range of a hundred feet, a 20 minute battery life on a single charge and is totally waterproof. You can even watch footage live on your phone using their mobile app.
Unfortunately, it’s not cheap and it carries a $499 (about RM 1783) price tag if you pre-order it and $999 (about RM 3570) on retail if you decide to try snagging one for yourself.
