Mi Pad now available in China. 50,000 units sold out under 4 minutes

Xiaomi Mi Pad

The 7.9″ Xiaomi Mi Pad has officially gone on sale in mainland China. In its debut appearance on their Mi Online Store, Xiaomi had sold out all 50,000 units in 3 minutes and 59 seconds. The Mi Pad 16GB is priced at 1,499 Yuan (about RM776) while the 64GB is listed at 1,699 Yuan (about RM880). In case you’re wondering, Xiaomi will be bringing the Mi Pad to Malaysia sometime later.

To recap on the specs, the Mi Pad uses a high resolution 7.9″ IPS display that does 2048×1536 pixels. This is the same resolution as the iPad mini with Retina display. Underneath, it gets a powerful 2.2GHz Quad-Core Nvidia Tegra K1 processor with 2GB of RAM and it has a choice of either 16GB or 64GB of storage. The Mi Pad is available as a WiFi only device and it also gets a 8MP rear camera and a front facing 5MP unit.
