UPDATE: Added details of Nokia Lumia 920 and HTC One XL 4G LTE bundling plans. Thanks bertjit for the heads up!

Maxis being the first to offer 4G LTE service in Malaysia has finally announced its 4G LTE smart phone bundling. Initially Maxis 4G LTE was only launched with its Wireless Broadband service offering. There are 2 devices being offered – Nokia Lumia 920 and HTC One XL which both supports 2600MHz frequency.

The 4.5″ Nokia Lumia 920 is offered as low as RM1,099 while the 4.7″ HTC One XL will be offered from as low as RM1,199. Both devices will be tied with either Maxis SurfMore 75 or TalkMore 78 with 3GB bolt on data plan. The HTC One XL looks identical with its One X sibling but instead it runs on dual-core Qualcomm Krait processor as opposed to the One X’s Quad Core Tegra 3 processor. The devices will be available at Maxis centres at KLCC and TTDI.

In terms of speeds, Maxis 4G LTE offers up to 75Mbps with average speeds hovering around 10-30Mbps. Currently its 4G LTE coverage is limited to Klang Valley including areas such as TTDI, Damansara Utama, Desa Sri Hartamas, Bandar Puchong Jaya, Bandar Sunway and Putrajaya with more areas to be covered soon.

Head after the break for the Smart Phone bundling options available.

24 Comments for Maxis now offers 4G LTE for Smart Phones

Where is Apple and Samsung? Hehehe

And why Maxis only offer 2 device? A lot of Qualcomm s4 krait out ther too… Failed!!

Nokia FTW.

hi, m the user of Nokia Lumia this is good phone, no need wtf….

Aiyo, do you know the difference between FTW and WTF? Nokia fanboy so insecure…

lol clearly he doesnt know the diff betwwwn ftw n wtf lolololol funny

          hahahahahaha……. does he know Google?

          FTW or WTF? Confused

Nokia really did the good job to bring Lumia with LTE supported at very first. Not like other lately launched phone (e.g HTC Butterfly) lack of LTE support and selling at high price RM2299
Come on, don't let me down again on HTC M7

when is this starting? i dont see it in the site yet :(

For the win or f*** the world?.hahaha

i want the lumia 920, dont want plan, anyone ?

Already got one from SenQ. Red colour.

You can try to get it from either the Nokia stores/agents or independent stores. Not sure about the latter but so far in Miri, none of them have stock and they only have the 820. :(

gives amazing speed, imposes quota, heck yes..

I'm surprised Maxis didn't jump the gun and release Samsung Galaxy S3, & Note II seeing as those two phones are still one of the most hyped up phones and not to mention much more popular than the current offering.

the problem is that Samsung release galaxy s3 and note2 with no lte, if got Maxis for sure will offer to them, whereas the iPhone5, they need to wait 6 month because different frequency, hehehe

Hi, unfortunately Samsung didn't release the 4g version to our country…

Funny thing is Samsung sells the same SGS3/Note II 4G variant in Singapore, so i don't understand why Maxis can't make a deal with Samsung to sell the 4G variant here in Malaysia.

I know there would be alot of kinks to work out in the process, but i suppose if Maxis did their marketing right, they would have at least tried to get shipments for the 4G version to be shipped to Malaysia

Question is that, if Maxis did so, previous consumer will confuse and though their s3 and note2 have lte. They will keep go the the service center and ask Maxis for that, and Maxis realize it's very troublesome. And also people will felt cheated and think, why the new note2 has lte, and me as a loyal fan line up in the 1st day and didn't get lte? other factors you have to realise that also..

Looking at the plans, which is the 4G plan? Like only 3G only.

Based on spec, you should get Galaxy S3 GT-I9305T (I not sure either this was the S3 LTE version that sold in Malaysia)… If yes, it was the first smartphone that come with Voice over LTE where I could not find any information regarding voice over lte for the other 2 phone that sell by maxis.

maxis lte is not using Voice Over LTE

So what are the colour options for the Lumia 920 in this package? Haven't seen any and don't tell me black is the only colour offered. At least DiGi offer black and white…
