More Rumours of the Galaxy Note II Surface. 5.5-inch Display Apparently Confirmed

Here’s the latest dish on the still very much rumoured Galaxy Note II, GSM Arena says an “insider source” that it has “good reasons to trust” has confirmed that the successor to the very popular Galaxy Note will have a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display (current Galaxy Note has a 5.3-inch screen).

In addition to the screen size, the source mentions that despite the larger screen size, the width of the Note II is said to be actually smaller than the device it replaces. In terms of design, the Galaxy Note II may take its styling cues from the Galaxy S III. If this particular rumour is true then we’ll be disappointed because the Galaxy S III’s design is not what we would consider as desirable.

Also, the release date for the device has apparently been bumped to September instead of the earlier planned October so that Samsung can release the Note II ahead of Apple’s iPhone 5. On top of that, we have a strong feeling that the new Note will run Android Jelly Bean out of the box.

We’re still putting all of this in the rumour pile until we get more info, having said that, the Galaxy Note was launched in October 2011 so a replacement is due. So if you are planning on getting a Galaxy Note, it makes a lot of sense to wait for a little while longer.
