HTC Desire V U Mobile

When the big 3 telcos are having Galaxy S III fever, U Mobile has quietly launched something totally different. Out of nowhere, a new HTC Ice Cream Sandwich device in the form of HTC Desire V is now available for bundling on U Mobile.

If you haven’t heard of the device, we don’t blame you as it was formerly known as HTC Wind, a dual-sim device that was meant for the Chinese market. It is not even listed at HTC’s SEA page.

Now onto the specs, the Desire V is powered by a single core 1GHz Qualcomm processor with 512MB RAM and reported 4GB of storage which is also expandable with microSD. At the front, it has a large 4.0″ WVGA screen that pushes 800×480. At the back, there’s a 5MP camera. As expected, it comes with beats audio enhancement and it is powered with a 1,650mAh battery. The biggest highlight is the dual-sim capability which is probably the first Ice Cream Sandwich device that supports 2 SIMs in the market right now. More information on the product here.

The overall package is not bad for RM1,099 outright considering it is just RM100 more than the HTC One V and comes with bigger screen and dual-sim capabilities. Looks like HTC is really living and breathing Ice Cream Sandwich and they are pushing all new devices with the latest OS, including its entry level HTC Desire C.

On U Mobile it is offered as low as RM499 with 24 months contract of U88. For more information, head over to U Mobile’s HTC Desire V page.

More photos of the device after the break.
