geeks are more extroverted(ex.more expressive and talks alot) while nerds are mostly introverted(doens't talk crap all the time, only important facts,can make good teachers or guide). Both are of the same kind. Yes professionally geeks will be more succesful in the material world becoz of their sociability. Geeks are more self- serving while nerds prefer serving others with their diversified knowledge and skills as stated in their description.
