Owners of the original Samsung Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab weren’t too happy with Samsung’s recent decision of not offering Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for its early devices.
After getting lots of flak for abandoning its previous star models, Samsung seems to be making a U-turn on its decision and is reconsidering them for its OS upgrade exercise. We all know that it is not impossible for the Galaxy S since its similar Nexus S model is able to run Ice Cream Sandwich perfectly.
On the memory limitation, perhaps Samsung would need to scale back on some of its TouchWiz custom skin in order to maintain a fluid user experience. As usual, no datelines were given but probably will come after the first wave of ICS update which is happening in Q1 2012.
Neo, do u live under the well?? XD
I agree with Neo, actually with this Android frequently made new handsets with seldom updates, but I still prefer to use my galaxy tab 7 with gingerbread than using IOS, Android is Android, and Tab is Tab !
What so ho hah about ICS. Its being automatically push into my Nexus S. It drains my battery and made the phone hang. AND its kinda copy of IOS5. I still prefer Gingerbread.
I used IOS5 before, no doubts IOS5 interface is more user friendly smoother but as Behrooz said android is android and IOS is IOS. There pro and cons.
My Nexus S get ICS update last week. So far work well, UI is smooth & battery last 1 & half day. Nothing to complain. Maybe my phone still new. ICS eat more ram but it give u more control compare to gingerbread.
Really nice update.
fine, like a repeat story of a HTC Desire, but this time is Samsung

whats up with the noise for not getting the ICS in their phone….They can always get it via custom firmware.
They need to understand, this is open source OS….everything is possible….My HTC G1 can get the gingerbread eventhough they officially closed until eclair…..And the best thing is, my G1 is running smooth under gingerbread but drain a bit on the battery part….well that is just pros and cons which you need to weigh before flash for custom firmware
That's always the main issue with android.. Go iOS or windows..
