For the iPhone 4S hopefuls that doesn’t want to be tied with telco contract plans, you can now purchase it directly from Apple and have it shipped direct to you.
The RRP listed on Apple store is lower than the telcos with pricing as follows:
You would have noticed that Apple Online store is selling the iPhone 4S 32GB & 64GB cheaper than the telco’s RRP of RM2590 and RM2890 respectively. After all, RRP is merely a “recommended retail price”. Delivery is written as 1-2 weeks and it is limited to 2 per customer.
So if DiGi, Celcom and Maxis plans are not your cup of tea, this is your next best option. To order, head over to the store.

I've collected my iPhone 4s @ La Bodega this evening and the person there inform me that it need max 24 hours for the line to be updated. Mine is from Exec50 to i98 plan.
i bought it at maxis during midnight launch.. it's activate my line (new sim) immideately and my old sim deactivated immediately also..
If buying it from Apple Store, is the warranty worldwide?
Interestingly there seems to be a bit of a discrepancy between the RRP of Maxis and the Apple Store for some unknown reasons. At Maxis, the 16GB model seems to be RM9 cheaper than the RRP at the Apple Store, whereas other models, Apple Store models are RM91 cheaper than the Maxis RRP.
Apple Store RRP:
Phone 4S 16GB – RM2,199
iPhone 4S 32GB – RM2,499
iPhone 4S 64GB – RM2,799
Maxis RRP:
Phone 4S 16GB – RM2,190
iPhone 4S 32GB – RM2,590
iPhone 4S 64GB – RM2,890

I want to buy iPhone 4S without any contract because I want to use my postpaid number. If I buy directly from Apple store, I will get the phone late is it?
Apparently, you can only buy 16Gb iPhone 4s from Apple Retail stores. If you want 32Gb, you have to buy on contract or online. That's what I was told at Mac Studio today
