Update: Celcom via its Twitter account says that in addition to pre-booking your iPhone 4S online with them, you can also make bookings at any Blue Cube store.
UPDATE 2: Celcom reveals official iPhone 4S plans.
Just as teased earlier, Celcom has commenced its pre-ordering of iPhone 4S which gives Malaysians the chance to be among the first to own the device. The Celcom iPhone 4S event venue has been officially revealed as well and it is happening at: La Bogeda, Bangsar Shopping Complex on 16th December 2011. It was written that queue starts at 9.00PM while actual sales starts at 12:00AM. We believe 9.00PM referred here falls on the 15th which is the eve of the designated launch day.
However here’s the vague part, the form which they used is no different from the Registration of Interest we’ve seen from Maxis and DiGi. So how is this any different? If pre-order is deemed as actual reservations of the iPhone 4S, we wonder if Celcom actually does reserve your units on first in first out registration basis. We will only find out on 16th December 2011.
Celcom’s website also mentions that Early birds at the launch event will be entertained with activities and they are giving out prizes which includes content downloads, Apple headphones, iPod shuffles and Celcom prepaid broadband packs. Now the only thing left from them are the plans and bundling offer.
To pre-order, head over to Celcom iPhone 4S page.
Celcom pre-order doesn't look assuring. No confirm ID or email with serial number. If they don't manage properly could end up like BlackBerry riot.
Got an email reply from Celcom that VIP invites would be sent out to those who pre-registered by 15 Dec 2011 at the latest. But without any transparency in the registration process, how can we be assured that those who will get invites are the ones who pre-registered early?
Better register both Celcom and Maxis since no payment required. Whoever confirm unit will get the unit.
u seriously think some many ppl will q up…only idiots do that..,,,like ppl fr bapaland q 4 bb ancient model………..just dont understand the hype ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,stupid, stupid,,,
Looks like Maxis make it big this time. They schedule 8 sessions for iPhone 4S collection. And Digi still keep on silent.
Bodoh ke apa beratur 12am beli henpon???.. takde kerja lain ke.. macam henpon some kind of holy artifact or something.. you work night and day and then you queue up at the wee hours to give your money away..
Get a live lah… go fuck your girlfriend better…

Well what happento celcong? Late in everything. I thinkk digi is far more better in marketing stg.. OWhy que? If we can bu y on line. Then we should do it, pls dont waste your time?
Celcom was late to the iPhone 4 party so they don't seem to have any experience making big launches like this. As you pointed out in this post, there was no registration or confirmation number generated after making the pre-order. I don't mind going to the launch at La Bodega to collect the iPhone if I am assured of getting at least one, but queueing simply for Celcom's marketing purpose without any guarantee of getting the phone is out of the question. Hopefully I won't regret switching from Maxis to Celcom this year.
P.S. Seems like Celcom's claim to be the first to provide the iPhone 4S will not happen. Collection for iPhone 4S with Maxis starts at 9pm on 15 Dec!
