UPDATE 2 0106hrs 15092011: As of 0100hrs, The Strand is still deserted. No signs of a queue forming at the moment.
UPDATE: RM88 Blackberry Torch 9860 offer is for lucky 20, not first 20 as mentioned earlier.
There’s also a special promo where Celcom is offering BlackBerry Bold 9900 + Playbook for RM2188. This is limited to the first 100 customers.

Original Post: The BlackBerry Torch 9860 which is coming to Celcom is expected to be sold in a firesale this Thursday, 15th September 2011.
According to Amanz, the Torch 9860 will be offered as low as RM88 for the first lucky 20 and RM688 for the next 180 people in line. Those aiming for the 200 promo units will need to sign up for a 12 months Celcom plan from RM88/month.
The firesale venue is reported to be at Red Carpet, at the Strand, Kota Damansara and its happening at 12PM. Obviously if you want to be in the first 20 in line, you’ve gotta be there much earlier. During the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 firesale, some had queued since the night before.
According to the standard plans, the Torch 9860 which is priced outright at RM1588 is offered from as low as RM588 with 24 months contract on Biz Package 188. For Celcom Exec plans, it is offered as low as RM1088 on Celcom Exec 50 + BlackBerry Pro (5GB) plan.

Sorry Mat Joe. There was a mistake earlier on in the post. Should be lucky 20, just like the Tab 10.1. This is a strategy to get people motivated to queue up all the way until 200th position.

where did you get the package plan for BB 9860? i couldn't find it in the website. for other models, yes but no for 9860 model. by looking at the standard plan above, it seems that the price = BOLD 9780

is the 1st 200 bb is different one with the 1st 100 (bb+playbook) package, if different 300 unit is offered

how does the lucky 20 actually work? even if you're first in line doesn't mean u get it?

you queue up in the line, be the 1st 200 person, after verification you get a number, @1200hrs they will held a lucky draw, if your number among the 20 number selected you will walk away with bb9860 for RM88. If not selected you may buy the device for RM688 instead.

i went to celcom website.. the exec plan is ok.. but the biz plan somehow there's a mistake.. rrp RM1988?? gotta be mistake right?
