We have live pictures from the Strand, Kota Damansara at the Celcom BlackBerry Torch 986 fire sale. On the same location Celcom is also selling the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and PlayBook for RM2,188 all in this special bundle is limited to 100 customers only, first come first serve.
About two hour ago there were 60 people standing in line at the Celcom booth. From our observations, the line is not as long as the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 launch which saw people standing in line overnight to stand a chance to get purchase the Samsung tablet with a heavy discount. But this could change quickly as we expect the working class within the vicinity of the Strand to also join in the foray at lunch time.
If you’re interested in the new BlackBerry Torch 9860, don’t count out your chances, the RM88 special price is offered to customers via a lucky draw and not on a first come first served basis. So you still have a chance to bag the latest Torch for a ridiculously low price. Good luck!
Those interested in getting the very attractively priced BlackBerry devices, you must know that you will need to sign up for a 12-months contract with Celcom.
BIG thanks to @bbfuturama for the pictures and info
Couple more pictures after the jump.

UPDATE 2 0106hrs 15092011: As of 0100hrs, The Strand is still deserted. No signs of a queue forming at the moment.
UPDATE: RM88 Blackberry Torch 9860 offer is for lucky 20, not first 20 as mentioned earlier.
There’s also a special promo where Celcom is offering BlackBerry Bold 9900 + Playbook for RM2188. This is limited to the first 100 customers.
Full plan Torch 9860 details now on Celcom website.
Original Post: The BlackBerry Torch 9860 which is coming to Celcom is expected to be sold in a firesale this Thursday, 15th September 2011.
According to Amanz, the Torch 9860 will be offered as low as RM88 for the first lucky 20 and RM688 for the next 180 people in line. Those aiming for the 200 promo units will need to sign up for a 12 months Celcom plan from RM88/month.
The firesale venue is reported to be at Red Carpet, at the Strand, Kota Damansara and its happening at 12PM. Obviously if you want to be in the first 20 in line, you’ve gotta be there much earlier. During the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 firesale, some had queued since the night before.
According to the standard plans, the Torch 9860 which is priced outright at RM1588 is offered from as low as RM588 with 24 months contract on Biz Package 188. For Celcom Exec plans, it is offered as low as RM1088 on Celcom Exec 50 + BlackBerry Pro (5GB) plan.
Full plan details after the break.

When Celcom revealed the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and Torch 9810 plans, we wondered what happened to the Torch 9860 teased earlier on.

Celcom has put up a teaser on their front page to indicate that the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and Torch 9860 is coming to their network. Yesterday RIM has issued an announcement that the Bold 9900 will be available through its retail channels on September 15 while Brightstar, the distributor for BlackBerry has started pre-ordering of the device this weekend.
For the Bold 9900, the big 3 telcos – Maxis, DiGi & Celcom are indeed offering the device soon. However, the BlackBerry Torch 9860 is something different being offered by Celcom. More details of the all touch-screen Torch 9860 here.
