UPDATE: RM799 Galaxy S II offer is tied to Maxis 24 months contract with 3GB data plan. Read more over here.
Samsung is throwing a special offer for the Samsung Galaxy S II launch next week. The first 300 buyers on 22nd June will get to buy it for only RM799! A huge RM1300 savings. We wonder if Samsung will set up a line for people to queue up the night before.
Also highlighted on the promo image above is that the RRP for the Galaxy S II is only RM2099! It’s no wonder why the grey importers were throwing their prices from its initial RM2699.
The RM799 is tied to Maxis 24 months contract with 3GB data plan with Value Plus postpaid. Normal price RM1199 for first month and RM1399 after July 22nd.
Details here: http://www.soyacincau.com/2011/06/17/maxis-offers…
yea. no string attached. good luck queuing
nice! gonna get one
Nope you have to subscribe to Maxis 3GB data plan for 24months contract.
[...] also looks like the RM799 launch offer is applicable for the first 300 that signed up with 24 months contract with 3GB data. [...]
my sources says that it's tied with 2 years contract!
300 units, do we have the market? no, i'm putting my money on iphone5. the phone that rules them all, kaka
iPhone5? ya when it does release Galaxy S already release 3rd generation… yet another guy brainwashed by Apple Inc…Android pwn IOS for sure and already rule the smartphone world…SGS2 own the best phone in the world by TechRadar. Your comment is the most silly and absurd comment I ever seen…
there is a reason why iphone is out selling samsung galaxy s2… or even the whole galaxy series ==
Its no point for all of you to indulge into the 'whos better' smartphone debate again. Its been re-enacted worse than Nicholas Cage's movie comebacks.
There will always be a divided preference for Android or Apple.
*PS: Not that Im taking sides; but iphone has been in the game for years. The s2 isnt even fully released worldwide yet. Let the end results judge. Cheers. *
This is because Android got over 300 different model with different brands…The sales splitted up into several part…Android's newest market share in the US now is 53%…IOS with just 27% following by RIM with 17%…The reason iPhone4 is selling hot cuz there is no other choice for people who wish to use IOS as phone… But for Android? There's bunch of choices, some people like the performance would go for SGS2 and Sensation….just with this 2 already split sales up, not to mention the other phones like Xperia Play and others for gaming purpose… So you try imagine if SGS2 sell like iPhone4 what the marketshare could be? I didn't stand for any site cuz I own desire z, blackberry 9300 and iPod Touch 4G and I know which one got more usability… =)
any official source stated whether it is attached to carrier plan or not?
Attached to Maxis, exclusive Telco for now.
New to android here, but are all android phones susceptible to viruses?? Read online that they need antivirus programs, is this true??
Thanks
Haven't had issue with virus so far. Just ensure your apps are downloaded from proper source and avoid using Free WiFi or accept suspicious files be it Bluetooth or from the net.
I wonder how much is the monthly installments =/
maxis PIG
500mb(RM58) data plan + Value plus 50 for 24 months we only pay RM3991.
the above statement is without phone, you miss out the phone?
(58+50)x24 + Phone price RM1399 = RM3991
Stupid Maris.. try to fool us..
[...] screen smart phone on contract below RM1000, here’s another alternative if you missed out on Samsung Galaxy S II RM799 offer. The HTC HD7, a 4.3″ Windows Phone 7 device is now offered as low as RM799 over 24 [...]
This is under an assumption that you're paying the RM138 for nothing…
Why is it that hard to believe that smartphone users nowadays need more than 1GB per month? I can easily exceed 500MB even I connect to wifi at home.
Based on your calculation – for RM4111-3991, which is RM120 extra, you don't have to:
- Look for Wifi hotspots everywhere
- Worry about youtube streaming while you are not connected to Wifi
- Worry about exceeding your usage by using "3G Watchdog" or any other monitoring tools
Is the RM120 extra worth it? At the end of the day, it's a matter of preference and I'm sure the 300 units will in fact have its own market.
Why maxis so xpensive compare to other telco.. Maxis 3gb + value plus 50= rm 138. Celcom 3gb, 68 + 50= rm 118.. Maxis 500 mb which less 1gb is rm58 + value plus 50= rm118 but celcom 1gb is rm38 +50= rm88… But, the call + internet plan in malaysia still the most xpensive compare to other country.. Why maxis..?!
means we must get at least a 3GB data plan and a value plus 50 only can get it with RM799?
so the RM799 for the phone only was just a trick for marketing?
conclusion is there's no such good offer lol?
><
how about the advertisement on newspaper and other mass media?
Maxis will only said they are co-operating with Samsung and there's a sentence of "terms and condition" or even a pre-registration are existing?
