UPDATE: DiGi iPhone 4 officially launched, read more here.
DiGi are in the midst of updating their website with the new iPhone 4 plans and we’re not entirely sure why the web guys are doing it in a live environment because they’ve just inadvertently leaked the much, much, much awaited iPhone 4 plans from DiGi.
We’re crunching the numbers to see if the numbers to see if the claimed “most affordable” moniker is true but at the skin of it, we’re thinking Maxis has a better proposition. What do you think? Take a look at tell us which one would you choose, DiGi or Maxis?
Got point.
To add to that DiGi does not offer contract extension for the iPhone 4.
Maxis in this case looks like an easier choice.
One thing though, I can't see where the "from RM58/month" comes in, there's no RM58/month anywhere on the leaked pricing?
Hi @tigervyh, the RM58 has been revealed. It is additional RM5 off if you opt for auto billing.
subscribe to autobilling for RM rebate….
RM5 rebate…
On a plan versus plan basis (DiGi versus Maxis), with regards to Call Minutes, Inclusive Data Charges etc… Does the DiGi plan work out better or Maxis?
I mean, off-the-cuff calculation over 2 years (as per Tigervyh's calc) shows savings of RM232, correct?
But do you get more talk-time, SMS and Data included?
IIRC, DiGi's plans are about double the talk-time/SMS/Data compared to Maxis's comparable plans? No?
Just checking, quite keen actually..
We need consumer choices!
The pricing above doesn't makes sense. First, there are not difference in the iphone price no matter what plan you sign up. 2ndly, If you look at the EPP Plan, you'll have to pay for the services at one shot. And looking at the price, This is no way cheap unless you are those hardcore mobile internet users. I would say, i don't see anyway the deals from Digi are benefitting the people. Just squeezing the people. If I have 4K plus to pay upfront when I sign up for the deal, I might as well buy the phone straight without any contract.
Hi Zagary, yes you're right. The subsidy of the iPhone 4 is very little for DiGi however their strategy is different, by reducing the monthly commitments of the plan. For Maxis, they offer standard postpaid plans but they discounted the phone price. While DiGi instead used that subsidy to reduce their monthly subscription. We will come out with an analysis on the effective iPhone 4 pricing for both later.
[...] wise, it is the same as the earlier revealed pricing, but they have reduced it to a further RM5/month if you subscribe for auto billing. You can [...]
I think maxis got better plan..too bad Maxis coverage is bad in my area
Look! Digi inserted the following tagline in their website
"Wherever you are in Malaysia, we've got you and your iPhone covered!"
I find this totally misleading because there are still places in Klang Valley, eg Puchong, that has very weak or no signal for voice. Unbelieveable but is true!
For this IPhone 4 battle, I recommend Maxis for long run, especially when you are always on the move.
would digi or maxis will come out with prepaid plan?im waiting for it..
We know that Maxis will be offering a prepaid plan for the iPhone 4 with 500MB worth of data, no further details has been revealed at the moment. Expect to wait at least one more month for the prepaid plans.
With DiGi, they didn't say anything about prepaid at their iPhone 4 launch so it's difficult to say.
May i know, what is the upfront payment when singing up Maxis RM100/ month plan.
Thank you
Well, over a 2 years contract, Digi's total for the cheapest plan + 16GB iPhone = RM3677..60
Maxis's iPhone 4 16GB with the RM100 plan = RM3910
So it's slightly cheaper, not by much though, haha
