DiGi starts pre-ordering of iPhone 3G until 18th March 2010.
Posted on March 11th, 2010 No comments
DiGi has started pre-ordering of the iPhone 3G. Options available are iPhone 3G with 8GB and iPhone 3GS with 16GB and 32GB capacities.
Pick-up locations are currently limited to Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Kota Kinabalu only. Actual pricing and plans are not available yet. It is also good to know that this pre-ordering is also open to non-DiGi customers however one would require to sign up for one upon collection.
We believe DiGi is trying to find out how many people are willing to prebook by asking more details from protential customers. Let’s hope that DiGi will be able to release iPhone stock in a shorter timeframe compared to Maxis.
Click here to pre-order yours now. Remember, this is only until 18th March 2010.

DiGi to bring in iPhone 3G & 3G S
Posted on March 3rd, 2010 1 comment
DiGi has officially announced that they will be offering the iPhone 3G S by middle of this year. This announcement is certainly great news especially when Maxis, the first to offer the iPhone in Malaysia is plague by network data congestion and long waiting list for the device. With this DiGi has ended Maxis monopoly of the iPhone game in Malaysia for about a year since its launch of iPhone 3G in March 2009. Now we just have to see how DiGi packages and price the iPhone 3G S to offer some real competitive advantage.
In another note, we also hope that DiGi have studied the impact of the iPhone on Maxis in terms of device stock availability and network capacity. To date, DiGi has been getting rave reviews on their Turbo3G network but is it ready to withstand the massive data consumption of iPhone users?
If you’re a DiGi customer or a potential customer who are looking to switch to a telco with iPhone 3G alternative, do drop your email to register your interest.

DiGi covers you when flying on Malaysia Airlines
Posted on July 19th, 2009 No comments
DiGi subscribers can now stay connected in mid-air thanks to its arrangement with Malaysia Airlines and AeroMobile. You can now make calls, SMS and surf online at selected Malaysia Airlines flight as indicated during cabin flight announcement.
Don’t too excited just yet. The call rates are quite premium with calls within Malaysia being charged at RM15/minute. You would also pay the same RM15/minute rate for receiving calls as well. SMS are charged at RM1/sms for prepaid and 99sen/sms for postpaid. Receiving SMS however is free.
If you plan to go online with your mobile, do surf smartly with images turned off as data is charged at RM100/MB. That is RM1 per 10KB of data. Mobile Internet however is only applicable for postpaid and DiGi business users only.
DiGi isn’t the only one as Maxis has collaborated with AeroMobile as well. Overall, we see this as a convenient feature and it is good to be able to stay in touch while on mid air. With rates that high, we won’t be seeing passengers chit chatting on flights anytime soon, which is a good thing. Who would stand a loud blabber mouth sitting next to you on a long flight.

DiGi Broadband: Student package from RM58/month
Posted on July 18th, 2009 3 comments
Mobile Broadband is now having a price war and the direction these days seem to focus more into the lower budget target markets. Previously Mobile Broadband used to be for the higher end market with subscription rates going more than RM100/month.Today, we’re begining to see more lower entry pricing below RM100, such as Maxis’s RM78/month plan and even P1’s Wiggy RM69/month package.
DiGi that vows to make broadband done right, is not going to be left behind as well. They too had released a lower priced package targeted at students for only RM58/month with FREE Modem. This is applicable for students between 18-25 years old which are mostly college/university students.
The DiGi Broadband student package has an average speed of 700kbps downlink and 200kbps uplink with a monthly bandwidth quota of 3GB/month.
