If you’ve ever looked at the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, which is the best smartphone in its class and one of the best bang-for-buck handsets you could buy, and thought “Hey, it’s still not quite worth the money”, there’s good news. Xiaomi Malaysia just dropped the price of their jewel of a budget handset, bringing the entire range below the RM900 mark.
I think, if you’ve been reading our site, you already know that Xiaomi’s really good at making cheap phones. Yes, they do make some solid flagship devices for incredibly attractive prices, but I’ve always found that they’re at their best in the affordable mid range segment.
Best phone under RM1,000? For me — for as long as I’ve been writing tech — the answer was always Redmi Note. This year, their champion in this increasingly competitive segment of the market is called the Redmi Note 5 and I’m here to help you find out if it’s still the one true king.
This post is brought to you by Xiaomi
The latest and greatest smartphones are getting more expensive these days. Flagship smartphones used to cost around RM2,000 a few years ago but now they could go more than RM4,000 for the top spec model. It doesn’t make sense to spend so much money on a phone that you’re likely to replace every two or three years.
What if there’s a phone that could deliver your most wanted flagship features at a more sensible price? It’s time to get acquainted with the Redmi Note 5 that’s coming to Malaysia very soon.
UPDATE: Xiaomi is launching the Redmi Note 5 in Malaysia on 24 April 2018.
Xiaomi has just announced the Redmi Note 5 in Indonesia and it’s the first market to get the device in South East Asia. In case you missed it, the device also coming to Malaysia very soon and we now have a clearer indication of the specs and possible pricing.
This is it! The Xiaomi smartphone you’ve been waiting for is coming to Malaysia very soon. The Redmi Note 5 was spotted on the SIRIM database and now the official online store has teased that it will be hitting Malaysia next week.
Xiaomi‘s new smartphone is coming to Malaysia and it’s the one you’ve been waiting for. Sure, flagships are cool, but for a lot of us, the mid-range is where the money’s at. It’s the one we can actually afford and with how good they’re getting, it can get pretty hard to justify paying so much more for a top-of-the-line handset.
And I don’t think anyone makes better mid-rangers than Xiaomi does. So get hyped because it looks like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is coming to our shores very soon.
