Samsung Galaxy A8s
Samsung will be the first manufacturer in the world to launch a phone that features a punch-hole display. The phone, called the Galaxy A8s will be making its debut on December 10 in China. Samsung posted the information on Weibo yesterday.
The Samsung Galaxy A8s is the Korean smartphone maker’s first phone to adopt the Infinity-O display. Instead of having a notch, the Galaxy A8s will have a all-screen display that comes with a cut-out-hole for the selfie camera.
Ahead of its official release, AllAboutSamsung.de has obtained more details of the upcoming device and this looks like Samsung’s most powerful mid-range smartphone yet.
The Galaxy A8s is expected to be the first Samsung smartphone to feature an all-screen display with a tiny cut-out-hole for the front camera. This allows the device to have an edge to edge display without having a visible notch.
Now it turns out that Samsung has a new challenger and they are also releasing a similar device next month.
When Samsung unveiled its working foldable smartphone prototype they had also announced four new Infinity Displays. One of it is the Infinity-O that features an edge-to-edge display with a cut-out hole for the selfie camera.
This unconventional “notch” is expected to make its debut on the upcoming Galaxy A8s and we now get a clearer view thanks to a new render.
Ever since Apple introduced the notched display with the iPhone X, almost every other smartphone manufacturer are all too eager to jump on the bandwagon. I personally prefer a sleek all-screen design over an ugly notch any day and it’s great to see Samsung is bucking the trend with its upcoming Galaxy A8s — if these pictures are anything go by.
