TP-Link smartphone brand, Neffos, has introduced a new smartphone that slots below its current Neffos X1 and X1 Max lineup. As the name suggests, the Neffos X1 Lite is their entry-level offering and it runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
UPDATE: We’ve updated the guide! Now there are four brand new smartphones for you to choose from.
It’s that time of the year again. Although a whole host of new smartphones have been launched, a lot of the conversation is about the smartphones at the top end of the market. “What about those on a tight budget?”, you must be wondering, “Do tech sites even care about those of us who can’t spend a month’s salary on a device?”, you’re probably thinking.
Well, we care. So, here are some of the best phones you can get for under RM1,200.
TP-Link’s first foray into the smartphone market with their Neffos brand was met with rather lukewarm reception. The devices were decidedly entry-level with plastic bodies and not a lot of horsepower under the hood. They weren’t particularly good value devices here in Malaysia either and that’s crucial when you’re competing in such a competitive segment of the market.
Now, though, TP-Link is taking a different approach with their new smartphone lineup, opting for a more premium build with better internals.
Has it worked?
TP-Link aspires to be a serious contender in the mobile business. Not contented with just making affordable smartphones, they are turning things up a notch by announcing its new Neffos X1 and X1 Max at IFA 2016. These are their first attempt on an all-metal smartphone.
