The Acer Swift 5 is an ultra-light 14″ laptop that runs on the latest 8th gen Core i5 processor. It has a magnesium-lithium body that feels upmarket and it weighs just 0.97 kg. Originally priced at RM3,799, this ultra-portable laptop is now going for less than RM3,500 in Malaysia.
For those who haven’t flown a drone before, the Tello is a compact drone that smaller than a Spark and it costs about 1/4 of the price. It’s made by a startup called Ryze Tech and it’s powered by both Intel and DJI. On top of that, the Tello is also programmable, making it an educational tool to get kids started with coding.
With a price tag of less than RM500, it’s rather affordable and it’s now available for pre-order in Malaysia.

When Intel revealed its 7th generation Core processors, they had also made a significant change to its ultra low-power Core m series. Like the Core i family, it used to be the Core m3, m5 and m7. On the new “Kaby Lake” series, there’s just going to be one Core m3 (7Y30). So what happens to the other two? Surprisingly, Intel is going to rename the m5 and m7 as the Core i5 and i7 respectively.
You can probably see the problem here. How would normal consumers differentiate the real Core i processors from the “Core m” versions?
