Everyone remembers the DJI Mavic Pro. At the time of its launch, there simply wasn’t a drone like it in the market. I mean, yeah there was technically the GoPro Karma, but I’d argue that even that drone is nowhere near as polished as the Mavic Pro.
Not only did the Mavic fold smaller, it also flew better and had all of DJI’s excellent intelligent flight systems and computer vision — it was much better as a standalone product. Meanwhile, the Karma was designed to fit into GoPro’s ecosystem — and I have to say they did a good job there — leveraging the company’s existing action cameras while also adding a touch of modularity with the Karma Grip. At least they were doing a good job, until Karmas started falling out of the sky.
So, I’d argue that the Mavic Pro was definitely in a class of its own. And when you’ve got such a game-changing device, the question becomes: How do you follow it up? Well, DJI thinks the way forward to is to have two versions of the Mavic 2.

The DJI Mavic Air is now officially available in Malaysia and it retails for RM3,499 for the standalone kit and RM4,299 for the Fly More Combo. If you’re looking for a cheaper deal, you can now get the Fly More combo for less than RM3,800, which is more than RM500 off its recommended price tag.
DJI is announcing a new drone tonight but it has been leaked extensively ahead of its big event. Similar to Apple’s MacBook naming convention, the new drone is called the Mavic Air and it’s supposedly lighter and smaller than the current Mavic Pro.
After introducing the Mavic Pro and Spark, DJI is expected to announce a brand new drone next week. With the theme “Adventure Unfolds”, this could indicate that the new drone would come with foldable arms just like the current Mavic Pro.
DJI has announced a limited edition variant of its compact Mavic Pro which comes in an all-white design. Just in time for the holiday season, the Mavic Pro Alpine White will only be available exclusively at Apple.com as well as Apple Stores in most countries.
The DJI Mavic Pro is one of the best compact drones you can get right now. At IFA 2017, DJI has announced a newer version that’s called the Mavic Pro Platinum. It still has the same foldable form factor and a 4K camera connected to a 3-axis gimbal but now it flies longer in the air with less noise.
The DJI Mavic Pro is probably the best drone you can buy right now. It’s easy to use, shoots 4K videos and it’s ultra portable thanks to its foldable design. Now, the Shenzhen-based company is going even smaller with its upcoming drone that’s called the Spark.
DJI’s Mavic Pro looks like an amazing drone. It’s this small, powerful and easy to fly drone that will turn even the most amateur of drone pilots into aerial photography experts. So, naturally, when we got our hands on the brand new Mavic Pro, the first person we passed it to for testing was our video guy who has never flown a drone before.
Here’s what happened.
DJI‘s newest drone, the Mavic Pro, is as badass as it is tiny. Despite being foldable enough to fit in your palm and weighing just under 750g, the Mavic Pro has all the features (and the same camera sensor) as the much larger Phantom 4 drone — plus a little more.
Want to know more? Well, we got to spend some time with it during its official launch here in Malaysia. Here’s everything you need to know about the Mavic Pro.
