Apple Watch Series 4 finally gets ECG feature but you can’t use it in Malaysia

One of the best features of the new Apple Watch Series 4 is its ability to take ECG (electrocardiogram) readings directly from your wrist. This could be a life saving feature as it can detect signs of atrial fibrillation. 

When the new Watch went on sale, the ECG feature wasn’t available out of the box. Now Apple has pushed its new watchOS 5.1.2 update which enables the ECG app and irregular heart rhythm notification.

Heart Doctor is concerned about this Apple Watch feature

As a heart doctor, my opinion is that if you think an Apple Watch is nifty, buy one. But do not buy it for your health. It will not improve your health, and it could even bring you harm.

When Apple introduced the Apple Watch Series 4 last month, the wearable received a great deal of coverage for being the first smartwatch to feature an electrocardiogram (ECG). Apple Watch Series 4 can take ECG readings & identify irregular heart rhythms

To me, the Apple Watch has always been the best smartwatch money can buy. I didn’t believe it at first, but when I started using one, there was just no question about it. The closest I ever saw any manufacturer get was Samsung, but while their watch had the excellent rotating bezel, everything else always felt a little lacking.

This year, Apple’s pulling even further ahead of the competition with the Apple Watch Series 4.

These are apparently the new iPhone XS, iPhone XS Plus and Apple Watch Series 4

Apple will be introducing their latest 2018 iPhone models in less than 13 days time which will replace its current iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X. The next device will be based on the iPhone X and you can expect a couple of upgrades thrown in. The folks at 9to5mac claim to have an exclusive image of the purported iPhone XS and it will come in two sizes.

Your Apple Watch 2 with swollen battery could be fixed for free

Not too long ago, one of our original 1st gen Apple Watch had its screen pop out like the picture above. It was out of warranty but we managed to get it replaced for free. Apparently, Apple had quietly extended the warranty for up to 3 years to address issues of swelling batteries on their first generation product.

Now it appears that Apple is doing something similar for its newer Apple Watch Series 2 that has water resistance and built-in GPS.
