COVID-19: 2,364 new cases reported today, total active cases drop to 27,028

Malaysia has recorded 2,364 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 298,315. There are 10 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 1,121.

The Ministry of Health has reported 3,320 new recoveries and a total of 270,166 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 90.56% while the mortality rate is now 0.38%.

There are currently 27,028 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 190 are in ICU while 99 require respiratory support.

Out of the 2,364 new cases today, 1 is imported while 2,363 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 862 cases, followed by Johor with 314 cases, Perak with 305 cases and Sarawak with 255 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 8 new clusters today and 9 are workplace related. Below is the list of newly identified clusters:

A total of 85 clusters have recorded new cases today. The newly identified Jalan Tasek Avenue cluster recorded the most with 209 new cases, followed by Jalan Sebelas cluster with 170 new cases and Sinsingon cluster with 67 new cases.
