Hair salons and barbershops, car wash and night markets (Pasar Malam) are allowed to open starting tomorrow, 5th February 2021. This was revealed by Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob during his National Security Council briefing.

Hair salon and barbershops are allowed to reopen until 10pm daily. Only haircut services are allowed and other beauty services including facial are not permitted. Operators must adhere to the strict SOP which include wearing face masks, disposable apron and gloves. Car wash centres are also allowed to operate until 10pm.

Meanwhile, Pasar Malam can reopen from 4pm to 10pm. Night market operators must ensure social distancing with a minimum distance of 1 metre between stalls, having dedicated entry and exit points with one-way flow and monitoring by RELA.

According to the minister, they have decided to lift these restrictions as there were no new clusters identified from these mentioned business sectors. The current MCO has been extended until 18th February nationwide except for Sarawak.
