COVID-19: 4,284 new cases and 18 deaths today, death toll now at 809

Malaysia has recorded 4,284 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 226,912. There are 18 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 809.

The Ministry of Health has reported 3,804 new recoveries and a total of 177,794 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 78.4% while the mortality rate is at 0.4%.

There are currently 48,309 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 307 are in ICU while 141 require respiratory support.

Out of the 4,284 new cases today, 6 are imported while 4,278 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 1,572 cases, followed by Johor with 964 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 651 cases and Sabah with 190 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 13 new clusters today and 12 are workplace related. Below is the full list:

A total of 108 active clusters have recorded new cases today. The Muda construction site cluster recorded the most with 534 cases, followed by Jalan Yahya cluster with 276 cases and Kebun Baru cluster with 63 cases.
