The latest Huawei MateBook 14 2020 is finally announced in Malaysia and it runs on the latest AMD Ryzen 4000 processors. Pre-orders will start next week from the 26th October 2020 and Huawei Malaysia is bundling freebies worth up to RM1,177.
Pricing and availability
The MateBook 14 comes in two variants and here’s the official Malaysian pricing:
AMD Ryzen 5 4600H, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD – RM3,799
AMD Ryzen 7 4800H, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD – RM4,399
Both are offered only with a single Space Grey colour option. Pre-order customers will receive the Huawei FreeBuds 3 (RRP: RM679), a Huawei Backpack (RRP: RM249) and a Bluetooth mouse (RRP: RM249) for free. If you’re intereted, you can pre-order the new laptops between the 26th to 29th October 2020 on Huawei’s Online store as well as Shopee.
Hardware Specs
The Huawei MateBook 14 for 2020 gets a 14″ (2160×1440 pixels) 2K FullView IPS display that comes in a 3:2 aspect ratio. For the Ryzen 7 4800H version, it gets a touch screen panel that supports a three-finger gesture for instant screen capture and cropping.
Both devices come with 16GB of DDR4 RAM and 512GB of PCI-e storage. It also gets a power button with integrated fingerprint sensor and a hidden pop-up HD 720p web on the first row of the keyboard.
In terms of connectivity, it gets a single USB-C port for both charging and data transfer, 2x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, a HDMI port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The MateBook 14 gets a 56Wh battery and it comes with a 65W USB-C charger that can be used to charge your smartphone.
Overall, the MateBook 14 weighs 1.49kg and it is 15.9mm thick. Out of the box, it run on Windows 10 Home Edition (64-bit).
