COVID-19: 82 cases today, new cases reported in 10 states and territories

Malaysia has recorded 82 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 10,769. There are no new deaths reported today and the death toll remains at 133.

The Ministry of Health has reported 89 new recoveries and a total of 9,785 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 90.86% while the mortality rate is 1.24%.

COVID-19 Malaysia 26 September

There are currently 851 active COVID-19 cases remaining which are isolated and receiving treatment. 8 patients are in ICU while 4 require respiratory support.

Out of the 82 new cases reported today, 3 are imported while 79 are transmitted locally. The imported cases include 2 Malaysians returning from Yemen and Bangladesh respectively and one foreigner that arrived from the Philippines.

COVID-19 Malaysia Breakdown

In terms of local cases, Sabah has the most with 64 cases which include 33 from the Benteng cluster and 25 from Bangau-bangau cluster. Both KL and Selangor have 3 local cases each, followed by two cases each in Selangor and Terengganu. Pahang, Melaka, Johor, Sarawak and Labuan have also reported 1 new case today.

According to the Ministry, 11 out of 79 local cases today are individuals that have returned to Peninsular Malaysia from Sabah. At the moment, there are 4 red zones in Sabah.
