There are 207 active cases remaining that are currently isolated and receiving treatment. 3 patients are in ICU with one needing respiratory support.

Out of the 12 cases reported today, 5 are imported while 7 are transmitted locally. The imported cases include two Malaysians returning from the United Kingdom and Qatar respectively, and 3 foreigners arriving from Indonesia.

In terms of local cases, there are 2 cases from the PUI Sivagangga cluster in Kedah, 2 cases in Johor and 1 case each in Selangor, Negeri Sembilan and Sabah. 5 out of the 7 local cases are Malaysians.

Malaysia will be enforcing mandatory face masks on public transport and in crowded public spaces from tomorrow, 1st August 2020. Individuals that fail to comply with the ruling will be slapped with a RM1,000 compound notice under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988.
