Malaysia has recorded 6 new cases today which brings the total number of COVID-19 infections to 8,683. There are no new deaths for 25 consecutive days and the death toll remains at 121.
The Ministry of Health has reported 13 new recoveries today and a total of 8,499 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is currently 97.88% while the mortality rate is 1.39%.
There are 63 active cases remaining which are currently isolated and still receiving treatment. 2 patients are in ICU and one require respiratory support.
Today marks the second day Malaysia records zero new local infections. All 6 new cases today are imported from overseas which involves 5 Malaysians and 1 permanent resident. This includes a family of three returning from Indonesia, two returning from Singapore and 1 returning from Egypt.
