The latest Xiaomi Mi Band 5 was introduced just two weeks ago featuring a larger screen and a couple of design tweaks. If you’re interested to get one on your wrist, a couple of grey importers have started selling the fitness band on e-commerce platforms in Malaysia.

Xiaomi Mi Band 5 Malaysia

One listing on Lazada is selling the Mi Band 5 for RM138. Although the LazMall store is listed as “Xiaomi Online”, take note that this is an import set and the product will be shipped from overseas. If you prefer to get from a local grey importer that has available stock, reseller Mobile 2 Go is offering the Mi Band 5 for RM169 and it comes with 6-months in-house warranty.

We’ve checked with Xiaomi and they have confirmed that it this “Xiaomi Online” store on Lazada is not one of their authorised resellers in Malaysia and it isn’t the same as the official Xiaomi Flagship Store or the official Xiaomi Global store on Shopee. Although the band can be used here, take note that it won’t be covered under a local warranty.

To recap on the specs, the Mi Band 5 features a 1.1″ AMOLED display which is larger than the 0.95″ panel on the Mi Band 4. The fitness band comes with a built-in heart rate sensor and it comes with a host of health tracking features including menstrual cycle prediction and stress monitoring.

One major improvement over the Mi Band 4 is the way you charge the device. The new Mi Band 5 uses a magnetic charging cable that’s attached to the back of the band, which eliminates the need of removing the actual band from the strap. You also get 5ATM rated water resistance and it still boasts up to 14 days of battery life.
