Huawei P40 Pro+ Specs

Huawei P40 Pro Plus

Despite having the “Plus” in the name, the P40 Pro+ shares the same 6.58″ screen size as the P40 Pro. It uses an OLED panel that pushes a Full HD+ resolution of 2640×1200 pixels and it also has a 90Hz refresh rate.

Under the hood, it runs on a Kirin 990 5G and if the onboard 512GB storage isn’t enough, you can expand it further via Huawei’s proprietary NMcard. The device can support upcoming 5G networks in both SA and NSA architectures, and it also supports WiFI 6.

The P40 Pro+ features a new Leica co-engineered Penta-camera setup. It has a 50MP f/1.9 main camera with a 1/1.28″ RYYB sensor. The device boasts low-light capabilities up to ISO 409600 and there’s also a 16-in-1 Pixel Fusion technology that creates a larger 4.48-micron pixel size. Apart from having the largest smartphone sensor, it also boasts having the first smartphone to offer octa-phase detection autofocus.

The device also features a 40MP f/1.8 ultra-wide-angle camera and it has two optical telephoto shooters. It has an 8MP f/2.4 telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and another 8MP f/4.4 periscope camera that comes with 10x optical zoom. With the camera combination, it can push 20x hybrid zoom and up to 100x in digital. Also included is a 3D depth-sensing camera. Both the main and periscope camera comes with optical image stabilisation.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t support 8K video recording and it maxes out at 4K at 60fps. It also supports 4K HDR+ and 7680fps ultra slow mo. For selfies, the device gets a 32MP f/2.2 auto-focus front shooter along with a depth camera.

The P40 Pro+ still comes with a 4,200mAh battery which is similar to the “non-Plus” model. It still supports 40W Huawei SuperCharge via USB-C but it also gets an insane 40W Wireless SuperCharge which claims to be the world’s first to offer 40W wireless charging commercially.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t come with a headphone jack and Huawei is still reluctant to include stereo speakers for its latest flagships. The device still gets IP68 dust and water resistance and it also runs on EMUI 10.1 that’s based on Android 10.

Take note that due to the ongoing restrictions, the P40 Pro+ doesn’t come with Google apps and services pre-installed. It runs on Huawei Mobile Services that comes with their own Huawei AppGallery.
