KFC Philippines on Facebook announced their “Virtual Store”, which is a KFC themed Animal Crossing: New Horizons island. They are currently posting invite codes from today til 22nd June on their page for Animal Crossing players to use for a chance to visit the themed island, and for a chance to win a free 8 piece bucket of KFC.
KFC Philippines has already posted several pictures and a video (above) showing what the island looks like. It’s absolutely adorable and so in-theme with the Colonel’s brand.
The Facebook page will be posting invite codes at random times. If you’re an Animal Crossing player, you’d also know that one island can only accommodate to 7 players at a time. So, getting in might be difficult.
Players from the Philippines who do make it in will stand the chance of getting a free bucket of chicken if they find the Colonel himself on the KFC island in his signature outfit. After finding him in the virtual island they will need to take a screenshot when he gives you your unique code. Then, you’ll need to wait for the announcement revealing the winners on Facebook.
Players from other countries might be able to still make it in the island if they’re fast enough to join using a code posted on their Facebook page at the right time. However, there might not be a chance for you to claim the prize in your own local KFC.
In Malaysia, MyBurgerLab also did something similar. However, they only decorated a part of an island with their theme. There is also a food chain in Hong Kong posted a job advertisement looking for a ‘Gaming Commissioner’ to create an exclusive Animal Crossing island for them.
