Digi together with AXA Affin Life Insurance has introduced the Digi Abadi prepaid plan that provides data and free life insurance cover. This limited-edition prepaid is offered exclusively on Digi’s online store and it is limited to 100,000 customers.

Digi Abadi is open to all eligible Malaysians aged 30 to 55 years old. The prepaid starter kit costs RM28 and it comes preloaded with life insurance cover of up to RM40,000 for death (RM30,000), accidental death (RM8,000) and funeral expenses (RM2,000) at no extra cost.

The plan also comes with 3GB of high-speed quota with 30 days validity. Calls and SMS are not included and they are charged at 10 sen/minute for voice calls and 10 sen per SMS. For the subsequent monthly renewal, the plan costs RM20/month.

What’s interesting is that the plan rewards customers with loyalty bonuses. For subscribers with consistent renewals, Digi Abadi users will receive an additional RM5,000 extra for death benefits and additional 1GB/month quota annually for the subsequent 3 years. The upgraded quota and death benefits are illustrated below.

If you stick to the plan for 3 years, you’ll get 6GB of data and death benefits of RM45,000. The benefit for accidental death and funeral expenses remain unchanged.

According to the FAQ, the SIM comes with a 365-day validity. It is also stated that unused data can be carried forward to the following month up to a maximum of 999GB if it is renewed on time. Although the plan has a year-long validity, you must renew the plan in order to enjoy the life insurance coverage.

If you need more data, you can purchase additional quota at RM5 for 1GB, RM10 for 3GB and RM20 for 7GB. You can subscribe to more data via MyDigi or by dialing *200#. The plan is open for new registrations only and existing Digi customers will need to register a new line if they are interested.
