The Oppo F15 will be announced very soon and this will be the successor to the current Oppo F11 series. To keep up with the latest trends, the new smartphone will feature a quad-camera setup and an AMOLED display, which are firsts for the F-series.

The device already has its own page on Amazon India and the launch is taking place on 16th January. According to the teaser image, it will feature a 48MP “AI Quadcam” setup, VOOC Flash Charge 3.0 and in-display fingerprint 3.0.

Although they have not revealed the full specs, the F15 is likely to be a rebadged Oppo A91 that was launched in China. The design looks identical and it also comes with similar headlining features.

The Oppo A91 features a 6.4″ Full HD+ AMOLED display that has a maximum brightness of 430nits. It runs on a MediaTek Helio P70 processor which is the same processor as last year’s Oppo F11 Pro. It comes with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage, which can be expanded via microSD card.

For taking pictures, it gets a 48MP f/1.8 main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and two 2MP shooters for macro and depth effects. For selfies, it gets a 16MP front camera that’s housed on a tiny notch. Powering the device is a 4,000mAh battery and it supports VOOC Flash 3.0 fast charging via USB-C. According to Oppo, you can get 50% charge in just 30 minutes.

So far it isn’t clear if this device will be coming to the Malaysian market. What’s surprising is that Oppo is still releasing an F-series device despite its earlier plans to streamline its smartphone lineup to just three series, namely the Find, Reno and A-Series.
